1st Choice for Holiday Rentals on Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan Island

Koh Phangan is a small island set in the sparkling seas, off the East coast of Thailand. The nearest other islands are Koh Samui to the south and the Ang Thong marine park to the west. Like all the islands in the archipelago, the centre of Koh Phangan is hilly and covered in dense tropical jungle, with numerous tracks and viewpoints to catch the beautiful views over the jungle and out to sea or to visit the numerous waterfalls dotted around the island.

The island is fringed with many clean, quiet, white sandy beaches and much of the accommodation is still in very simple bungalows, reflecting the "laid-back" feel of the island, very different to the more developed Koh Samui, but there are now some luxury resorts and villas for those that prefer a more sophisticated holiday.

Snorkeling around Koh Ma island off the beautiful Mae Haad beach, strolling round the old Chinese fishing village of Chaloklum, relaxing at the beautiful twin bays of Thong Nai Pan, or partying on Haad Rin beach, the choice is yours. Trekking and mountain biking are the best ways to explore the centre of the island and to see the many waterfalls, and the varied plant and animal life.
Some of the more remote beaches are only accessible by track or local boat services and getting to, and from, these locations is an experience in itself. In Thailand you should expect arrangements to be a little more flexible, don't be surprised if transport does not arrive exactly when you were told it would!

Koh Phangan is well known as a world class diving centre, with trips to Sail rock and Koh Tao especially popular. The Ang Thong Marine Park is an archipelago of around 40 islands, all uninhabited, covered in dense jungle and home to many different species of lizards, birds, monkeys and bats, whilst in the surrounding seas you can see a huge variety of fish including turtles, dolphins and whales. Many of the islands have small sandy beaches, caves and reefs making them an ideal destination for a day out.

Elephant trekking is another interesting way of getting around the island and seeing the sights. Renting a kayak and paddling up the coastline, staying at one of the yoga retreats, visiting a health spas, kiteboarding and wakeboarding, or just lying on the beach and relaxing, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself on Koh Phangan.
