1st Choice for Holiday Rentals on Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan Accommodation

Koh Phangan claimed its fame in the mid-nineties when it featured in the widely read novel and later film, The Beach by Alex Garland. The island was portrayed as paradise on earth with unspoilt beaches, a relaxed tropical culture and stunning nature. Backpackers flocked to the island and set the pace for the beginning of an extraordinary journey as Koh Phangan was transformed from a remote backpacker location into today's world class boutique travel destination, catering for a range of tastes and needs; from budget travellers to the rich and famous.

In recent years, Koh Phangan has moved towards a more upscale feel and now offers five star accommodation choices including hotels, resorts and private villas. The natural beauty of Koh Phangan sets it apart from neighbouring Koh Samui and the size and range of offerings available give it an edge over smaller Koh Tao. Located between the two islands, and a two hour sailing trip from the mainland, the island is well connected and access is easy from a number of locations. Most of the accommodation on the island benefits from the lush natural surroundings, be it a beach, hillside or tropical gardens. The island is also hilly and visitors can enjoy stunning landscapes or ocean views from several viewpoints scattered all over the island.

Haad Rin, home to the world famous Full Moon Party features mostly low- to mid-range accommodation due to the sheer number of visitors during the monthly party that see the town visited by tens of thousands of people over the span of two to three days. More luxurious resorts and hotels have sprung up in the areas around Had Talad on the island's northwestern tip, and Had Yao or “Long Beach”, also on the northwest side. These locations now cater to more upscale tourists with beautiful resorts and villas offering every imaginable facility such as villas with private pools, international restaurants, spas and water sports facilities.

Koh Phangan is quieter and less hectic than Thailand's more well known tourist destinations such as Phuket and Krabi and the island enjoys warm and sunny weather most of the year. Like on Koh Samui and Phuket, private villas have become more popular and these are often available for rent when the owners are not using them. They can usually be rented for short and long term stays with a varied member of services such as cleaner, cook and driver, depending on the needs of the visitors.
